Confirmed Merge and Upcoming Consultation On a New Name2024-12-13
 A new association for all our hockey families will be created for the 2025-2026 season
GCMHA and OMHA Families,
Earlier this week, the Gloucester Centre Minor Hockey Association and Orleans Minor Hockey Associations met to discuss and confirm our intention to move forward with the merging of our two organizations. What this will mean is that a new association for all our hockey families will be created for the 2025-2026 season. Our teams will play under a new organization with a new name, new branding, and an improved and modernized hockey association. Our two boards are confident that these modifications will result in an even better hockey experience for all.
We are currently working towards creating new governance documents. As well, committees have been set up to work on new uniforms, branding, and naming. As a first step, we want to let our hockey families have their say on the new name. There are two distinct parts to the new name. First, we need to come up with geographical name to replace our old names of Gloucester Centre and Orleans. Second, we will require a new mascot name to replace the Cougars and Rush. To participate, we will have an engagement message on our social media, on which you can comment or message. If that is not an option for you, you can also submit your idea by email to social.media.coordinator@orleansminorhockey.ca. Let’s have some fun with this. With your new name, you can also create or use AI to show us what the new logo could look like. Please submit your suggestions by Christmas Day.
